Front Storm Door: The Hunter Green Holdout
This is it… the very last bit of hunter green on the exterior of the Liberty House.
Painting this door is absolutely not on my list of things to do in the next 5 weeks, which means you know I’m going to be giving it the side-eye (thanks Patti for that apt description) every time I walk by it until I just can’t take it anymore.
Which will probably be next week. Luckily I’ll be too busy being petrified on the roof of the donkey barn to do anything about it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t think about doing something about it, and what I’m thinking right now is that maybe I want to paint it turquoise.
At first you were just like, turquoise? For real?
But it just started to grow on you, didn’t it?
Turquoise is like that. Sneaky.
I was actually originally thinking of going with black, you know, since I already went a little crazy on the back door…
I don’t think the green would be quite right with the brick on the front, but I’m also not sure how I feel about having two, um, bold colors on the exterior of the house.
The black would be a little more neutral and traditional, but the turquoise just sort of latched onto my heart and nestled right in there. I’m having a hard time dislodging it. (Turquoise… sneaky and clingy.)
What do you think? Black? Turquoise? Should I keep the front and back doors different or maybe go turquoise on the back too? Should I stop pondering the mysteries of front door color and spend the next week concentrating on not falling off a roof instead?
