Building a Home: A Journal
Web designer Mike Davidson came into a pile of dough a few years back and decided to spend a chunk of it on a new home. Being a web designer, he determined to journal the entire process virtually. From looking for a property, to putting in a bid and posting a time-lapse video of the deconstruction of the original property, to documenting construction, plumbing, landscaping, and everything else. All is included, as well as...and this is actually the coolest part...how much it cost. So far he's spent $768,000. His website, A House By The Park, isn't your typical before and after, look how pretty my house is kind of deal. What it is is a documentation of what it really takes to build such a home.
