Trap Door Wine Cellar? Yes, Please!
Besides the cool factor of having a trap door in your kitchen floor, how fun would it be to pop it open when friends are over, descend a spiral staircase and come up offering them a 1994 Pinot Noir?
Available through Spiral Cellars, a UK company, the pre fab concrete cellar can hold up to 1900 bottles of wine in perfect storage conditions. Here's the deal:
A watertight, pre-cast cylindrical system that’s sunk into the ground, it can be located anywhere from kitchen to conservatory, workshop to study. It can be installed into an existing ground floor room, or incorporated into the build of an extension or new property.
Not a bad view down, either. It definitely adds dimension to the kitchen.
